I would like to hear the voices of the people I have as friends. I would also like avoid hearing the rants of others. I'm in favor of a limited audio capability.

I thought vocaroo was an option here. If not, it can still be used, but takes time to record and send anyway.
Maybe people need to use skype or something like it.
