Is it weird to wish someone luck when you text them they have the wrong number

"I was wondering if I could get my notes from you. There were probably from a year ago haha so I can use them towards my appeal."

If it were about something else I'd probably mess with them. Hahah a long time ago some guy got all mad because he texted me a paragraph thinking I was someone else and when he found out it wasn't he was like "DONT YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN!"
