For clarification, here's what happened. Somebody in the subreddit r/DAE (that's an acronym for "does anyone else") asked the question, "DAE feel the need to save the world, but engage in a scorched earth policy against MAGAt mоrоns?"
I took that to mean no mercy for traitors and that We should prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. And I responded by saying that they would do it to us, so we should do it to them. That led to a permanent ban from the subreddit for "promoting violence".
Well, you know me. I'm nothing if not friendly and respectful.
No, really. I messaged the mod about it, and this was how it went.
As you can see, this person was absolutely monitoring my messages to them, and responded almost immediately to my second message. Even then, I couldn't be provoked to saying anything I regret, but the little ❄️ decided I needed a 3-day ban for what I did say.
@calicuz The thing about Reddit that I love is that there are subreddits for literally any topic of conversation you can think of. You will never post something and not get a response.
@calicuz It's more that there are more users on Reddit and the posts do have to stay within the sub's subject matter. SW has fewer people, but ironically feels more like a community, and while there are categories here, you can talk about anything you want.
Reddit is a lot more compartmentalized. Like on the scotch sub, your post will be deleted if you bring up anything not scotch-related.
@BritishFailedAesthetic I wouldn't rule it out, honestly, but what I mean is, there's good news about his deliberately offensive posts. Not sure how much I can reveal.
Complete ban knocked down to 3 days, not bad. And now you know to point out other peoples' violent statements and avoid the confusion that you might have similar sentiments.
@JSul3 I intentionally got myself banned from r/Trump when I heard about it. All I had to do was write several posts telling the truth about the man. They don't appreciate honesty.
The moderators there are just dudes who LIVE online and want that tiny little touch of power they're given. They ban people because they can and there's no recourse.
