I cannot consciously speak to this subject. My ex mother in laws boss was killed in Gettysburg test flying a new helicopter when the entire prop came off. Naturally I don't trust them.

I rather have brand new ones bc you don't have anyone's problems with the used ones if they had issues with their used ones too or they don't have any issues with them neither but you never know what it does and what is wrong with them too and maybe nothing is wrong with them neither

Why would I want one
Cowboybob · M
@smileylovesgaming right?

I've always wanted to fly a helicopter. The price tags are one of the things that keep me from pursuing it.
I might be able to afford something like this. But it sure would be noisy.

I'm just looking at them for my mate if he wants one of them but it's his decision if he wants one or not and I will be behind him to support his decision too but he's not in a hurry anytime soon

They are easily a million or more. Depending on what instruments you get and gps’s. And because it’s Jet-A there is where most your money goes into
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
a place down the road had an old huey for sale for around $200k a few months ago...
I'd be content with an autogyro/gyrocopter, one of the fancy enclosed ones... 🤔

That's at least a 6 million aircraft well used
Cowboybob · M
I’m sure that I will never have a need to know!
jackson55 · M
Bell Rangers are several million.

Can you afford it
swirlie · 31-35, F
Like everything, you only get what you pay for. The safest helicopter you can buy is about $27million brand new and the most safety-compromised helicopter you can buy is about $1.5 million brand new.
Why would you want one? They're money pits to begin with, they drink fuel like a fat kid with soda, their maintenance costs are astronomical, and unless you can fly one yourself, a pilot will not come cheap.

@swirlie Sorry, the largest those gatlings come in is 30mm, and illegal as hell, not even allowed by the NFA.

@NativePortlander1970
Ahhh... but 50mm is a special order! And who cares about the NFA anyway?
