These Message Rate-Limitations are Temporary, and will subside in time, for the affected users. The limitation time can vary, based on the user's recent message initiation volume.
The limits do NOT affect existing conversations. Users are free to continue conversing on existing conversations, but they can experience some "Cool-Down Time", if they have been creating too many new conversations recently.
We encourage users to have meaningful dialogue with the many existing conversations they have already initiated.
Also, please be mindful when starting new conversations with users you have not communicated with before. Try to identify users who have mutual interests with you, by checking out their profile carefully, before initiating contact.

Note:
A number of users complaining about the Messaging limits (not the OP in particular) currently have pending Reports on their Private Messages:
"Reason: Pornographic, unsolicited nudity or other sexually explicit content (1 week ago)"
We have a duty to protect users from harassment. The majority of harassment and abuse on this platform, likely happens via Private Messages, especially when users are not constrained in the number of new conversations they can initiate.
Has anyone got this message before? Im getting it almost every time I try to send a new message and I don't know why I have never gotten that message before

Any user who has received the temporary limitation for creating New Messages, have either:
1) Initiated a Large number of New Conversations, in the past Hours / Days / Weeks.
2) Have a very poor account reputation, due to spamming or some other significant offence.
Not every "Woman user" may be legitimately a Woman.
Not every "Predatory user" is necessarily Male, either.
Unless one has actually seen the user's messaging history, there is no assurance that the user isn't using private messages in a spammy, harassing or predatory way.
Unfortunately, more and more sites are now wanting to charge for you to use them. OR you can use them somewhat but to do anything meaningful you have to pay.
Not sure if this site is about to do that but it seems then sites want to double dip - get money from sponsors AND it's users.
I figured it might just be the pervs, abusers, and habitual messengers but it seems now every day more and more people are having an issue. Some of them even women. Women are less likely to start PM's.
@SW-User I don't think I'm on any sort of PM restriction but then again I don't use that system a whole lot. I might start two or three conversations a month and I don't abuse anybody so I'm guessing I'm in the clear

@CestManan Years ago on Yahoo Answers the management changed many things to make it easier for them. Users hated the changes but Management didn't give a shit as it allowed them to have less staff. 2 years later the place shut down,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, this place is starting to look just the same before Y!A got closed. Management restriction on users posts & messages, soon this place will only allow VIP members = money grabbing

There is no such limitation on existing conversations.
(Unless the user has blocked you, or some other algorithm such as Minor-Age safety, has kicked in.)
Having initiated over 60 New Conversations in the past month, you should have lots of users to continue chatting with, while you wait on your temporary limitation expires.

Yep....I've been here like 5 years and I got it yesterday for the first time....it means you can't start any new conversations for a while....I don't know how long....I just got 6 months of VIP and that fixed the problem
@choppers2244 I t's gotta be a new policy....You can always email admin at support@similarworlds.com and ask them how long it will be like that....yeah it does stink....but there are other cool features as well like being able to see if someone read your message and other stuff...They are really good about getting back to you....give it a shot....I'm sure they can explain it to you....Good luck
I never pm so I didn’t know but I’m not surprised they are trying to get money. Who would want to run the site for free? Wish they’d find a more reasonable way to do it though.
@Teirdalin I have tried for more than I can remember....and not once was I allowed to chat with a new user. Definitely a big problem and they want you to get a VIP membership to get a pass.....it's simply a money grab.
