I really miss EP

I miss being able to go to someones profile, seeing what we may have in common. Before even messaging the person. I miss how some of the groups felt more like support groups. People were a lot more open on there. Felt a lot more like a community. It feels weird here. I know we can be "anonymous" here. Crazy, how on EP I had more anonymity. Yet felt more like myself. The community really seemed to accept me. Even when most didn't know my name. I was able to share real experiences. I was able to relate to so many people. Here, things feel a lot more superficial. I am having trouble explaining it, but they just do....

EP was a bit of a zoo. However, mixed in among the fun and amazing people were the predators.

The lessons of EP ( how to conduct yourself in a wild social media setting...and survive) will not be forgotten. I lost touch with a lot of EP friends after the shutdown.

@TexChik I didn’t keep in contact with any of my EP friends after the shutdown.

You are so right about that! I learned a lot from EP! I loveddd being anonymous and being able to connect with others. Some users enjoyed being anonymous for Malicious intent. I may have posted a lot on there and interacted with the people who commented. When it came to personal messages. I interacted with like the same 3 people. I kept my circle pretty small on there. Just, the way I like it lol. I tried my best to stay as vigilant as possible. Open minded, but vigilant lol. Thankfully, in the end the good outweighed the bad for me.

I hope you have met some good people here!

@HelloItsMeAgain I have. I keep my group pretty tight, but I also know a lot of nice people who, unwittingly, are the backbone of this site. People who are there day in and day out. I read their posts, react to some, and absorb others.

I know of several that were on EP that are my friends here. Some have tragically been lost, and others seem to have disappeared, not sharing my affinity for our friendship.

Anonymity is why I can be here. EP had a different vibe and was not nearly as policed or left-leaning as this site can be. But I have learned to play the game.

I had the same profile name on EP. Clearly, you didn't recognize it, so we must not have interacted much. 🤷🏻‍♀

There are good folks here, and some bad ones too. Blocks are a good thing sometimes. 🤠
