It’s so easy to mess up online.

You can say one wrong thing and that could be that, you might never hear from then again, no matter how long you’ve known them.. I guess it’s rare that we ever “know” anyone online.

Unfortunately that can be true especially if you’re only communicating online, where “messing up” is easier because you’re not seeing facial expressions nor hearing tone of voice. So feeling a connection and saying the right things can be challenging.

Since it is a gamble, if there’s interest in pursuing any type of relationship it’s probably best to plan for phone calls and video chats. Of course that’s not a guarantee of success but it does increase the chances of a positive outcome.

@WillaKissing Indeed. Emotional maturity seems so rare.
@WillaKissing Agreed but unfortunately “mature” is not a given.

@Magenta @OlderSometimesWiser You are both right! I have no problem telling ladies they are right! 🤗
It’s very true…you just never know. There was a poster here with whom I’d been joking for years. We weren’t super close, but we’d share a smile on different topics. I posted a song one day and he said he didn’t like it. I replied something like "well, there are other songs," and he blocked me. I thought, wow, okay. I honestly hadn’t believed it was that offensive. So, yeah. 🥺

@bijouxbroussard It seems some people will find any reason to be offended these days.

Might be more common online. But has happened to me in real life too. Someone i knew for years, was in a foul mood one day. And whatever i said, turned out to be a wrong thing to say.

So i stopped trying. But she was the one being rude. She should have called back. She never did. So we lost touch for ever.

But here's the thing; if you're really getting on with somebody and you say something they don't like they will give you a reason to explain yourself. If they're looking for a reason to end the convo' anything will do. So for example that time I shouted 'the south's gonna rise again!'
It just meant one day I hope to have another great hard on. There we go, I'm not pro slavery just a pervert with an odd sense of humour.
People and life both change drastically all the time. the only reasonable approach is to enjoy what and who you can for as long as you can and realize that everything is fleeting.

@dirge Helpful words of wisdom-thank you. :)

Not just online in reality too.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@Beautywithin True, but it’s a lot easier to cut contact online.

Facts and facts.

One DOES have to be careful/cautious online.

You can know people online bit its easier to ghost them too 😬 sometimes anyway save for a few psycho stalkers 😳
Say? You can be scorned and banished just for your emoji reactions.
@SmileOnYourBrother And one’s meaning could be one thing and taken to mean entirely something else by the recipient. Sometimes there’s no winning online. 😔
Lilnonames · F
But online you never know why? As did they die, in the hospital cause of accident?
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@Lilnonames Very good point
