I've been discussing world affairs and ethics with my 13 year old daughter. Always makes me feel positive and cheerful 馃檪

@Convivial Certainly does! We averted a potential upset at last night's sleepover . . now we are sorting out the Middle East. Roll over Henry Kissinger!

@SunshineGirl mine are homeschooed and I don't want them shielded for too long but I want them to feel safe and it's such a weird age yet. I'm definitely not explaining that native actor having his braids cut before being killed but I said some this sad in our culture happened and we are wearing braids out of respect and left it there.

@chick95 We adopted her last year at the age of 12. She is a natural conciliator, the person everyone in the childrens home looked to when resolving disputes. She brings the same judgement and logic to bigger issues. I do not shelter her from anything she takes an interest in.

@SunshineGirl and no need for coconuts lol

@chick95 Only you will know when the time is right. My eldest niece is 17 years old, but less mature and reslient in many ways than my daughter. I would not discuss the same subjects with her.
