Today was an unsatisfactory day. I drove to Market Bosworth via the Thorpe Farm ice cream shop. That was the first disappointment. I had a scoop of Irish Cream ice-cream and it was a complete let down. Surely it should have at least a hint of Irish Whisky but it tasted of hardly anything at all.
Then i drove on to Market Bosworth which indeed is quite pretty and was holding a Sunday market. I went for a stroll around the streets and into the park which is very pleasant. Then back to the market square for a snack at the Maison Rose.
That was the second disappointment. I ordered a mocha and an orange cheesecake. Perhaps I'm just picky today, or contrary or i don't know what but it was all a bit unsatisfactory: both the cheesecake and the coffee were too sweet. And like the ice cream didn't come with a paper napkin. The table I was directed to was piled with menus that were not removed when I sat there. The table was less than two metres from the counter so I could hear conversation between customers and staff. One woman asked about allergens and the woman behind the counter (manager or owner I suspect) said that she didn't know and wouldn't be able to find out without finding the box that the cakes came in because they weren't made there.
Not a place I would recommand, unless you like pink. Everything was pink including the manager's dress except for the waitresses who all wore black.
