Mbingh01 I'm much further north, just below 60° north in Norway. No sunshine that day, yesterday, or today. Today it was -10 C (14 F) with a northerly breeze making it feel like -14 C (7 F) according to the weather report..
I used to visit Raleigh quite often on business (one year I did eight two week trips). I don't remember there ever being much snow although there were some days in the winter when it was icy.
We haven't got much, after several days of light snowfall we only have about 100 mm (4 inch). The north of the US gets a lot more than we get in my part of Norway. And in recent years we have had less and less snow. Even the ski resorts are suffering. Lillehammer (where they had the Winter Olympics) has only half a meter of snow (20 inches) at the top of most the lifts, half as much as normal.
We might get another 24 mm of snow tomorrow, Wednesday.
