I'm really not sure if this therapist is the right one for me?

I sometimes feel like my therapist talks more about herself than she should.
I'm trying to stick 3 months with it, because I'm kind of a person who doesn't always give things a chance.
I don't even know how to say this without sounding bad, but I don't feel a connection with this lady and it almost seems like cartoonish advice then cue the sad face ...hers- not mine.
She talked about the death of her cat like it was some kind of comparison to the death of my husband?
I know losing a pet can be devastating I've lost a few, but didn't really seem appropriate.
Everything she says sounds like something you could get from reading a first year textbook on basic psychology, I know, because I took that class.
I have another meeting on Wednesday.

Im sorry for your loss and for the place you're in at the moment.

Like you stated, give it a chance. Maybe things will click. If they dont thats okay. Not every professional is for every person. Research some more and find a new one. It's frustrating, especially when your're looking for help, but the end result is worth it.... because you're worth it.
