Ch ch changes...

So, I am trying to get back to a new normal; it will never be what it was again.
I know I am going to need help.
I have started back on my exercise routine, but I am having a hard time staying on my diabetic diet.
I think it's more about stress than anything else.
My blood sugar numbers are high, and even with the exercise and insulin, they are not at
normal levels.
I don't think being disgusted with myself is working, and so I know I have to seek out some counseling before my health gets worse.

I am thinking about joining an ongoing book club at the old people's gatherings or the community center, as it is so named.
They also do a walking club in the spring, and perhaps I will join that.

I will have to get a job because I only have about 9 months' worth of income to work with.
I can't get any retirement until I am 60.
There is a place that offers training for people over 55.
They train you, it's only 20 hours a week at minimum wage, but it's a program where the goal is to end up with full-time job at a higher wage.

I know I can't commit to much until after this month and the memorial is behind me.
I will call the counseling place today because it always takes time to get into something like that.

You know I always wish you the best. But, there are so many places paying more than minimum wage. What kind of training are these people giving?

@Musicman yes ,with those places they want you to have some kind of experience. This is supposed to be training that gets you into a higher paying job.
I don't have a lot of experience.
I've worked a lot of different jobs ,but they've all been just kind of dead end jobs

@Justmeraeagain Target pays $16 an hour just to stock shelves.

@Musicman
I don't know if they pay that here in Michigan.
I would like to train for something that's going to actually give me a skill.

@Justmeraeagain I definitely agree with that. As for the construction trades I can tell you that repairing heating and air conditioning is literally a licence to print money. I don't know if you would be interested in anything like that, but the pay is fabulous and people pretty much leave you alone.

@Musicman I don't think I'd be very good at something like that .

@Justmeraeagain I didn't think so. I was just trying to be helpful and my field is construction.

I got a while to think about it ,but I'd like to have a job in 2 months or at least training for something.

@Justmeraeagain I don't blame you. I am considering going back to work too. With my knees and shoulder construction is not an option. I could do sales though. What I would actually like to do is sell RV's. It's just in this economy I'm not sure I could make a living.

@Musicman Whatever I decide, it will have to be in a few months.
I need to attend the memorial on the 30th, and then my daughter and I are going away for three days the second week of September.
On my birthday, October 13, I plan to visit my granddaughter, Molly.

@Justmeraeagain Good for you! After everything you have been through you deserve a break. 😊
