You are stepping very rapidly to get 2,000 steps in 17 minutes

@turbineman40 The machine's own display says I moved the equivalent of nearly 4.4 km, almost two and three quarter miles. But if I had actually walked 2 000 steps the distance would have been more like 1.5 km, just under a mile.
2 000 steps in 17 minutes isn't all that much more than walking, 117 per minute, just over 7 000 per hour. My normal walking pace is over a hundred steps per minute if I'm not just dawdling, at least 6 000 per hour.
I don't know how the machine comes up with its distance figures. But it's the relative numbers that matter, I just try each time to do a bit more than the last time.
Including the 2 000 steps on the machine I've walked 5 400 steps so far today. I should ty to do a bit more than that too.

@ninalanyon You are doing well Nina, walking that distance every day
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@turbineman40 Unfortunately it's not every day :-(
According to my mobile my long term average is 5 214 steps per day and the average for the last week is only 4 791. On Wednesday I only did 646! But on Tuesday I did 8 044 :-)
