Welp...I got rejected from pre-apprenticeship program at my school

I graduated from that place over a year ago for coding, and I guess what they say about not caring about people who are no longer students is correct. I think maybe me indicating I had too much leverage over them backfired on me, since usually having leverage increases chances of being hired. Oh well, I can always wait for the automotive company that my dad's colleague works at to contact me for an interview. Waited for over a month, and only recently was my resumé sent to HR after being sent to direct supervisor, and before that just being held on to by the colleague smh. I'm gonna join the local chapter of the painter's union next Monday, and hopefully I can start working as a painting apprentice soon.
i feel like you need to be more proactive than that to get into an apprenticeship, its essential not much different from job hunting. if i were you i would be researching and sending over my resume to multiple places daily. just see it as a matter of probability
@PepsiColaP I've been applying to retail jobs in-person from March to May across various malls in my and other cities, and also last summer till this summer applied for all kinds of jobs I can qualify for online.

I did get over a dozen interviews, out of applying from thousands of jobs; I applied on LinkedIn, Indeed, Wirkin, and even company websites. sadly didn't get hired, but good thing I have my own automation startup as insurance over the long term.

@uikakarotuevegeta well first of all you're applying season is the wrong time of the year most places start hiring September October to prepare for the Christmas rush most of those people unless they are very good performers will be laid off by February once you get a job you have to perform extremely well so you can keep the job after the Christmas season sales jobs in malls and such picks up for Christmas season only.
@dale74 which I've done last year and many years before that

How many jobs have you applied for with the information you learned in your coding course. Was this just like a boot camp class or a 6-month course or do you actually have a degree in computer applied sciences with the discipline of coding.
@dale74 2 year diploma at a "community" college as Americans call it; in Canada, that's just a college and what Americans casually call a college is referred to as "university" here
I know how to code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React-Native, SQL, Python, and Java. Well I forgot how to code in SQL and Java if I'm gonna be honest. The frameworks I'm familiar with are ORM, Node, Express, Django, Springboot, React, and Bootstrap. I barely touched RESTful and nonSQL though.

This is precisely why I’ve always said school is a scam
@Ideation except i'm able to use the skills i got from coding to get into AI >:)
