But before the café I went to the Sally Army shop across the road just like the last time I was in Tønsberg. By the time I got there after walking about 1.2 km my worn out winter tights were starting to fall down so I picked up a couple of pairs of 70 denier tights before having a look around. Didn't see anything I fancied, most of the dresses and skirts were black or too small.
The same woman who served me last time was at the counter and as I walked up to it she said "Du ser statlig ut!" (You like stately). You can imagine how good that made me feel. I'm wearing an almost floor length lace dress, a cape from Mikko, a black hat, collar with skulls, skull ring, long gloves, one spider earring, one skeleton earring. She asked to take a picture but actually took a video, should be on their Instagram account eventually.
Meanwhile here are a couple of pictures that I took on the way while the car was charging

@ninalanyon I love the total black look 🖤 very stylish

@being Thank you! It's the first time I've worn this dress in public, it just doesn't really seem suitable for most of the times I go out. It's too long to go walking in the woods, too much dress altogether for the summer when I like to wear almost scandalously short skirts and dresses. It's just right for today, only a little snow so the hem mostly doesn't get wet. And of course it's Halloween.

@ninalanyon yep I can understand it can get difficult to wear that but you can do so few times a year.. and Happy Halloween enjoy

Time to drag myself out of this comfortable seat and do some shopping. But first an interior shot of the café from where I am sitting.

I heard on the radio that XL Bully dogs in the UK will be required to wear muzzles when in public. Can someone explain to me why this shouldn't apply to all dogs, or at least dogs over a certain weight, say 6 kg?

@Dacrowman Exactly, so just muzzle them all when they are in public. Does anyone do obedience training of dogs any more? Most trainers and owners seem more interested in the dogs doing tricks than in them being obedient. And of course a small fraction of owners just like their dogs to be aggressive.

@ninalanyon That would make sense, but would be politically awkward. Some people have deeper bonds with their "fur babies" than they do sith other humans. Dog ownership has soared since the pandemic. Not just any old dogs, but the most expensive pedigrees (which invariably have the worst temperaments). The owners need training just as much as their pets. You see people struggling along with 3-5 dogs on leads, incapable of controlling them properly or using a short leash. No consideration for other users of the pavement and often turn aggressive if you say anything. I think libertarian dog ownership is likely to become Britain's equivalent of US gun rights.

I think you are too optimistic, my feeling is that it has already happened. :-(That's going straight to your thighs!!! 😄
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@metaldog My thighs can take it! It's my belly that usually grabs such things. But in fact it's quite light. I make one at home that is essentially the same, I'll try to work out the energy content.
