If you're in it for the money, then no. Nobody reads blogs anymore.

@being I do.
It takes years of consistent publishing and dedicated viewers to build up a reputable blog.
Otherwise every Tom, D!ck and Harry's got one, but they're mostly read by friends.

@rrraksamam But publishing alone in the blog still won't be enough..? One would need to be present in few platforms.. I just think, instead of publishing through insta for example, why not to publish through a blog and then share this with the rest of the platforms?

@being Depends on what platforms you use and who the target audience is

It’s worth it if you do worthwhile things and aren’t going into a career that requires ‘blank canvas’ professionalism. Every now and then I get tempted, but in my profession you don’t want clients googling stuff about you.

😜 hahaI’m going into counseling. When clients can Google a bunch of stuff about you the acquired bias towards the counselor can interfere with being able to help them.

You have to see how can you make it profitable. If it is written the way as to drive business to you. I remember when I used to freelance and started answering technical questions on Quora, after a time I started to get business queries on my Quora account.

It's worth it. But insta is important to attract the audience for the blog

I have a blog I love, that I write an entry for every day, it’s very fulfilling for me and I feel better when I create an entry for it. It’s really just for me and not for profit. I do get likes and visits. I have just made it private yesterday tho. I think it’s worthwhile if it makes you happy. But it would be very hard to profit off. People who want profit from blogs/newsletter/their writing use substack.

It depends what you want out of the blog. If it's a just a place for you to collect your own things and you like the format, then go for it.
If you want people to look at it and for it to gain a lot of followers, you'll probably have to do a lot more advertising outside of the site in order for it to become successful.
