What do people gain from making rude comments on SW users posts?!

I just can’t understand what drives someone to want to hurt a fellow users feelings.

When people act like this with others they don't really know - whether online or off - they're usually either self-absorbed or they're acting out on some pain or something they're going through. Either way there's little gain from me responding to it.
