Here's an idea about protected groups

If your on a site where you're not allowed to criticize groups you dissagree with or find disgusting block all members of that group. If said group won't engage in normal discourse then they shouldn't be allowed any discourse at all. Block them. Block anyone who defends them. Just erase them from your corner of the site. This way you fight unfair policies.

@SunshineGirl You actually can't since they're not going to. They want to only hear things they like. So just don't engage with them at all.

Just stay away from said group like you would want them to stay away from your own? That's how I feel about it.

Nobody should go where it's ugly for them. This is one of the main problems on the Internet. People just can't leave each other alone.
