Anyone else EXTREMELY careful with your wording online so you don't end up offending anyone?

If you're a person who doesn't mind confrontation or just doesn't care this probably doesn't apply to you, but some people online are just offended by EVERYTHING and ANYTHING.

Like the topic doesn't even have to be about politics or religion or anything. Literally the most innocent of topics.

Like say, just an example topic but not necessarily just this, I make a post about how I find it gross when people spit on the sidewalk as they walk past me. Like:

Me: "I personally find it kind of gross when people spit on the sidewalk as they walk past me. Now, as a disclaimer, I do NOT think less of anyone who does this, and I do NOT judge their whole character on this. To each their own. They are valid in their own way. But I, as an individual, just find it kind of gross. Perhaps I'm the weird one with my opinion, but yeah."

Them: "You motherfucker! We don't give a flying shit what you think! We will spit on the sidewalk whether you like it or not! This is our lives, not yours! We're not gonna listen to some judgmental prick! Now I just wanna spit even more!"

Like even though I add all the disclaimers in the world and say I do not think of them any less as a person, they're still somehow offended.

Since I hate confrontation both in real life and online I find it best to just rarely post or comment anything online. Usually not worth the backlash I get.

I am very non-confrontational in person. I'm a little more free with my words online.
