Why do people add you as a follower here?

Do they think you will just add them back? Which kind of logic is that, the logic of desperation?

I am discerning of who I am accepting as “friends” here, just like I am in real life!

I sometimes follow people who I find interesting & maybe don’t have the time at that particular moment to spend in reading & exploring their profile. That way I can more easily come back later, when I do have time.
