@RedBaron english is not my first language but even I know that "fewer" and "less and less" are both accepted expressions but what you fail to akgnowledge is that these two expressions are not equal, oxford dictionary defines "less and less" as "at a continually decreasing rate" whereas "fewer" makes no reference to the rate at which the change has occured making it possible that it happened at one specific moment and not gradually. I therefore stand by my use of this expression.
@reflectingmonkey I understand, but FEWER applies to a plural subject like posts or horses or trees, so that’s why it is correct in this instance, while LESS applies to a singular subject like rain or snow or sugar.
