Sometimes I wonder.

@acupaday I definitely relate to that to a point. I call this my escape from reality, but more in the sense that I see people I can relate to here that I can’t in the real world. But the people I’m talking about are the ones that believe their own fabrications, each to their own I guess.

@DHggmu People are naturally more guarded and very aware of their audience in reality. Here the openness can easily flow due to the anonymity alone, so I get how easily you could relate to people here. Those who believe their own fabrications though. There’s a lot of psychology working there. It’s all about feeding the dopamine and people go to great lengths to not ruin the source of a good time. I stopped saying “Wow. Okay” some time ago because of how devoted they can be to the character they’ve created, especially when they have supporting characters who keep feeding their fragile and hungry ego.

@acupaday Yeah you’ve summed up my thoughts perfectly. I guess because I can’t relate to “those” people, that’s why it’s something I’m not understanding. Each to their own, the block button may have to be used more often.

@Starcrossed Yeah I usually have the mindset of each to their own, but I just don’t get it. Maybe it’s because I relate to people who seem authentic.

@smiler2012 Yes, because I use this place as a little escape.. except I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not, which is what my post is referring to.

@akindheart I guess some are easier to spot than others, and some people are more naive than they should be.

@DHggmu i have been online for many years. i know the players here and some have psychiatric disorders. i know for a fact. i try to warn my friends but they don't listen UNTIL they get burnt. i hate to say "I told you so" so n ow i keep my mouth shut...well try to at least

@akindheart Unfortunately not everyone has a friend looking out for them. Sometimes the best way to learn from a mistake is to make it.

@Umile I can’t say that I’ve seen any evidence of you playing a character, it’s easy to spot the ones I’m talking about though.

@Lilnonames Really? I guess this place caters for them. But I did mean more the people who post clearly fabricated things to make it seem like they’re someone they’re clearly not.
