The word "friend" is generally overused on this site, imo, and many people assume that if they know something it means everyone knows that too. Nope, we don't know and no matter how much they will write about "someone who does this or that" we still won't know unless they give names. Then the proof wouldn't hurt either.
Magenta · F
people will stay friends with people who otherwise would be morally repulsive to them in real life.
I've observed the same thing.
PoetryNEmotion · F
@Magenta You and I are not like that. This I know, Lady M. Love to you. :)
Magenta · F
@PoetryNEmotion Indeed. Love to you too, Poe. 💝

Second paragraph is truth.
We have no idea really what people are like, what they've done in the real world or behind closed doors.

I think you are right.. a lot.. not all.

I don't have the kind of connections you need here to be believed on anything.
But I might report that person to the relevant authorities.

Nope. Not even if there were screenshots of them admitting to it. Then again, we don't actually know the truth on either side..
Yep. All because of that popularity title as if it means something. I haven't the desire to be popular, nor support or try to gain from one who is. The idea of " those wishing to be popular on the internet" says a lot about their character and I've learned to stay away from those types.

I wouldn't trust anyone here.

Some people tend to have selective memories. They black out on some stuff while only remembering what makes them feel good in the moment.
Im not sure to be honest. Every time I shared something about a popular user being a pos I ended up experiencing stress from the things that would be said by people who chose to support them . I tend to ignore those situations or the fact that I have that knowledge i guess until I cant take it anymore though. It is stressful either way and im sorry. if you want to talk , not about the person necessarily but how youre feeling, you can reach out. 🤍

Because they are afraid of them.
Fortunately I’m not and I’m not afraid of losing their hangers on either.

And also police.

@sarabi yes domestic violence charges can be looked up as long as you have the needed information available

Goes the same for the old dudes that every other comment is about some chicks tits and makes sexual type remarks to them all, even when they could be his granddaughter. Yet he's popular because he's such a nice guy. Nobody in real life would put up with that shit.

I'd report them
PoetryNEmotion · F
I would speak the truth and not be their friend either. Of course, they would still have friends. People say one thing and do the opposite. Some people are without standards. Popularity here means nothing to me. It does to others. That is sad.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Yes they would still have friends.
If i had 100% proof a friend of mine her had done something terrible, i would distance myself.
Its hard to be sure here what is true and whats not.

You asked this question for a specific reason. Care to share why? Be brave.
@PoetryNEmotion I saw someone post about a user here who was known to have abused their partner and that they posted evidence with pictures. I had also seen a post a long time ago from a user here who claimed another user here's wife told her he beat her. Just was thinking about this and that's why I posted it. No hard evidence not calling anyone out specifically
PoetryNEmotion · F
@SlippingAway Thank you for answering.
I dont think anyone would see/hear me either way.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Not sure... No I wouldn't stay friends
bijouxbroussard · F
One thing that complicates the situation greatly is that some people are involved in "bdsm” and "domestic discipline” relationships, with some women (and a few men) calling themselves "submissives" and referring to their partners as "doms". All consensual, presumably.
So, one simple premise I previously thought everyone agreed on, condemning domestic violence, isn’t simple at all.

popular or not, if I knew someone abused others, I'd step back and I surely wouldn't be friends!
MY real question is this.... how does anyone truly know much about others on here...to be able to state it all as fact?

@SW-User I am sure some here know others well enough to know if domestic abuse is occurring. The question is what will they do about it? It is not something I could ignore.

Who is it? Just say it.
