I agree with you, and I would do the same to be on the safe side where my child was concerned. What I would not do is publicly name and report someone on such little information. It was someone else that said they would do this, not you, and that’s why I made that comment. At the same time, even though there could be several reasons for not wanting to be around a child, we have to err on the side of caution, so I’d never let that person be around my child.

Maybe they are Christian and know my son is an atheist. Maybe they see me and think he must be as crazy as I am. Maybe they have a thing for kids and is trying hard to stay out of trouble. They could think as a child you were hurt by an adult, they want a relationship with you and think you are keeping your distance to protect your child. I can think about a lot of things it could be.

My kid is 22 so I'd assume they were a cougar and like young men if he was a child I'd think they were some kind of pedo .

One kid is gay, the other married a narcissist and seems to have turned into one themselves. It could mean they are homophobic and are thinking about the older kid, or it could mean they know the younger one and have good reason to feel that way. Considering the current situation they may even know something I don't. I would be curious which it is.
