Whatever happened to those two muppets who were forever crowing about Manchester Utd ?

It seems they've lost all interest in football now. 🤷🏻‍♂

Funnily enough , I was trying to explain to my 12yr old (French) daughter (and her mum) , who already has enough of an interest in English football to know that Man Utd should not be getting beat 2-0 by a very poor Wolves side , just how this giant club has sunk so low.

I spoke about Fergie’s toxic legacy and those entitled pricks who pretend to be pundits just adding to the stink created by the Glazers. Then I was reminded of Ed Woodward’s bolshy claim about doing things in the transfer market that other clubs could only dream of and explained how everyone else heard that loud and clear and have been rinsing them ever since.

Last night their line-up was missing Casemiro , Rashford , Antony and also Fernandes (once the prick had been sent off). If I’m not mistaken , that’s over £1m a week for four players who are absolutely toxic and shouldn’t be anywhere near the team.
And that’s not to mention the likes of Cavani , Ronaldo , de Maria … and all the rest of 'em that went before.

I don’t think it’s any exaggeration to say that Man Utd have been the worst run club in world football in the last ten years. And the truly amazing thing is is that their supposed messiah , Sir Jim , looks just as clueless as what came before.

@LegendofPeza The players don't play for the badge anymore like they used to

I live in Manchester and I also grew up as a teenager (near Burnley) when Ferguson's united waa at it's early peak.

During that time (the 90s and 00s) it was Liverpool that was the former empire fallen on hard times. Former players chipped in on what was going wrong (often cluelessly) an they had a string of failed managerial appointments.

United during that period was near invincible in domestic football and got loads of glory hunting fans.

Now the roles have reversed. English football runs in cycles in which empires rise and fall.

You didn't mention this in your post but we are perhaps witnessing the end of the Man City era. They won't win the title this season and (more importantly for the mid-term) they have an aging squad.

I don't know what will happen in the next few years. My guess would be that nobody (city, arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool) looks quite strong enough for an era of domination. I think we will be having the title switch hands quite a bit.

It was a bad performance yesterday by United I've been supporting them for over 50 years now i don't think the players are playing for sir Jim at all something isn't right at the club

@Mark12 Jim may or may not prove effective. The early signs are mixed but it would be hard to do worse than the glazers.

Imo, Amorin is probably the right coach and needs to be given time. It needs to be thought of as a long-term project.

@Burnley123 I happen to think Amorim might prove to be no better than Ten Hag. Remember even West Ham said no thanks. His adherence to three at the back when none of them are suited to it could prove to be his undoing. That defence was an absolute shambles last night , not to mention the clown between the sticks.

As crazy as it might sound , Amorim could be gone before we know it. Their next two league games are Newcastle and us. It's highly likely they will lose both , then it’s 6 losses in the league in his first 9 league matches in charge.

Then it comes down to their next league match at Southampton. I reckon if they rock up to that one on the back of 6 losses in the bounce in all comps, he’ll be playing for his job. Lose that and I think he’s gone. You can’t lose 7 in a row at a club like United and expect to keep your job.

@LegendofPeza I dunno.

For all the instability, coaches at united do get a bit of time. No permanent appointment has been sacked with eighteen months.

Now obviously, they should have sacked Ten Haag in the summer but having now taken that step and appointed Amorin, they will have to see it through. West Ham (fwiw) probably regret that decision. Firing Amorin would now would put off future appointments.

If I was making the decisions at united, I would stick with Amorin. Accept that it needs time and that it's a min two-three year project. They won't get relegated and won't get in the champions league so should just focus on process to get to a better place for the next season. After a year, you need to be seeing progress towards the goal.and only sack the coach if you don't see that.

I think they will probably do that too because they don't have much choice.
