Why would you say Southgate staying for too long could be the problem? I thought it's worse having to go through sudden and frequent changes in the management like we did, than having a stable manager that knows how the team plays?

@Elessar The players are arguably better than three years ago.
Not picking a left-back is a crucial error and indefensible. I also think that Southgate maybe lacks the tactical sophistication of some coaches. As things changed within the squad, he hasn't adapted. He's been there seven years now and that is a long time so I think its become stale.

It's almost like a no loss game at the moment, for the fans anyway. If we lose nobody will be surprised. If we win while still playing crap nobody will have expected better. If we play well and win then everyone will get a boost. I can't imagine that many people are seriously expecting us to go very far this time around.

@MandyMitchell I'm not sure about that. I think England are hopeless at unlocking a packed defence. They will be better against one of the top teams who come at them - if they get that far.

@Burnley123 That's about right. So far no team has been inspiring but Scotland and England have been the most boring. Its a bit embarrassing.

[@burley123] i have not watched any england games in this tournament out of principle and they have prove my judgement right by all accounts they are not good enough . do you honestly as a football fan think england will get far never miind too the fihal .i know i should not say this but it will end like it always does with england they will go out and the excuses start

@smiler2012 No: I don't think England will win. They lack something - fire perhaps, or determination. They have skilful players but less drive than they need; they seem to think they have the right to win without trying; an inbuilt arrogance of assumption.
