@DeluxedEdition Timber industries actually, William Randolph Hearst, the publishing magnate 100 years ago, collaborated with DuPont, who had just patented nylon fiber to replace silk, and hemp, to demonize Cannabis in a scapegoat attempt to outlaw hemp itself for their own timber/paper, and fiber investments, using the Mexican slang, marijuana and saying them, blacks, and jazz artists and movie stars were getting crazed on it, made the film reefer madness, and got Congress to outlaw all Cannabis, including hemp, with the 1937 Marihuana Tax Stamp Act.

I live in a non-legal state, not even allowed for medicinal. Anyways, my room mate was once on probation over a misdemeanor that didn't involve substances or drinking in any way, yet during her probation she wasn't even allowed to have alcohol.

I was in Colorado, where it is totally legal, with my old room mate a few years ago, of course she could not wait to legally buy some 420.
So we stop by a dispensary, she wanted to shop around so I went back to wait in the car. It was funny seeing people walking out of the place with these nervous looks on their faces. By then though, recreational use had been legal for a few years. What the heck was their worry? 🤨

What was b*zarre about the dispensary though - they were acting completely professional, with the same demeanor as someone selling expensive phones or jewelry. This "girl next door" saying, "Are you looking for anything in particular today?"
I have spoken with insurance reps who were less professional.

At the dispensary, I guess I was kind of expecting Cheech and Chong to be in there saying, "Ey holmes, we got the goods! What you after?"

Everyone I know who smokes has gone back to their dealer. They didn't like the government stuff

Even though I’m entirely legally allowed to have it when I get pulled over, cops will do everything they can to give me a hard time

And that’s cheap compared to the companies that overcharge charge 100 and 200 😭

Hemp is what they make paper out of, and it’s got such low THC they use it in topical creams and those Gummies they sell at gas station
