Are you growing it outside? I've wondered how hard it is to grow, I don't have much of a green thumb.

@ScreamingFox have you seen grove bags for curing?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SlippingAway It's called "weed' for a reason.
There are a lot of things to be done to maximize yield and get the strongest strains off of stuff, but if you just want a cannabis seed to turn into a cannabis plant it's incredibly easy. I grew one plant on a lark and had a fucking christmas tree in my yard.

@CountScrofula I've killed plants I've been told aren't killable so I feel like I would need a lot of help on this 😂

@NativePortlander1970 can you tell what type of strain this is? if there ever was a feel good strain this is it...i got this for free. i haven't paid for weed in probably a year....i do buy hash though
NativePortlander1970 · 51-55
@beermeplease That would be a good indicator, so the leaves must be fat.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@beermeplease is it a head high or body high? If it's calming it could be an indica dominant hybrid. But I can't really tell from the bud.
beermeplease · M
@ScreamingFox i'm thinking it's a hybrid....but what i really like is hash. unfortunately the weed store might be out of it because the liquor board is the distributor of all cannabis and they are still on strike. but i'm happy with the weed i have

I'm impressed beyond words.

@Ferric67 it's hard to get a job in cannabis where I live, but once I move there will be more opportunity. I have a degree in ag science, so it is my area of expertise.
enjoy it!

Dispensery pot in my experience is pretty meh. Its all grown for visual appeal and numbers.
There's only one dispensery I have found I think grows truly good bud. It's a local business who only sells what they grow and its all outdoor from seed. The quality is great, the prices good, and they limit there ofgerings to 10-15 strains at a time Which is enough. They use simple and plain packaging to keep prices down instead of putting everything from a gram to an ounce in a decorsted glass jar for no good reason. They also have a philosophical aversion to vape carts.
It's litterally everything I have holed for in a dispensary. Its doing well but the hypebeast smokers who thrive on novelty tend to rag on it.

@MethDozer not saying I'm not glad they legalized it, but that definitely opened it up to the corporate world mindset. Sell sell sell and make a profit. They cut corners and cheat. They hype it up. That's never what weed was about. Humans eventually ruin everything.
MethDozer · M
@ScreamingFox yeah. A lot of states fucked it up when they introduced legalization and set the laws to favor conglomerate investor type buisinesses to hold the mantel of production. I think NYS learned from others and got it pretty close to right when we legalized. The laws defiantly favor the little guy and have kept some of the big greed corporate producers out of the business here. Plus alabany really got it rught when they mandated at home grows being legal statewide with no allowance for local restrictions on it.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@MethDozer I worked for the medical dispensary years ago, run by retired cops and people with clout. So they rushed in wiped out a lot of opportunity for small grows, or even larger scale grows/dispensaries. It's all who you know here.

what's up fox 👌

@Ferric67 me lol

@ScreamingFox atta girl
I feel the same way about my plums. 😉
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@NudasPriest homegrown anything is usually fantastic, not the large scale agriculture with pesticides, just at home. It's the best imo
LavidaRaq · F
Growing your own you know what’s in it as well
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@LavidaRaq exactly! They're adding terps and who knows what else these days at medical dispensaries. I wouldn't even buy street weed at this point.
LavidaRaq · F
@ScreamingFox I worry about pesticides and chemicals.

Wait...... it's literally 1011. 🤔
NativePortlander1970 · 51-55
Most of the time commercially grown Cannabis does not fully mature the trichomes to gain full thc potency, the red hair fallacy is often used, trichomes under magnification must be mostly milky white before harvesting. I spent the last four months of 2013 in Northern California among master outdoor growers, including 9 weeks on a trim crew for a medical coop harvesting 99 plants twice as large as christmas trees, over 450 pounds after trimming, the trim alone came to 315 pounds. I learned a lot.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@NativePortlander1970 it's all about the trichomes. And you bet I check twice a day and watch my weather too around harvest time. I've homegrown self taught for years, I do have a degree in agriculture too. I researched and just through trial and error found the sweet spot.
NativePortlander1970 · 51-55
@ScreamingFox Don't forget the white distilled vinegar, lady bugs, and preying mantises.
NativePortlander1970 · 51-55
For the non growers, how can you spot the differences between indica and sativa from ten feet away?
