Smoking some of my homegrown 🥴 How is it so much better?

I have been to dispensaries across the country, tried so many different strains, but nothing ever compares to when I grow it myself. It's like smoking sunshine and joy. I wish I had planted more but I wasn't even sure it would grow here.

Happy 420!

Dispensery pot in my experience is pretty meh. Its all grown for visual appeal and numbers.

There's only one dispensery I have found I think grows truly good bud. It's a local business who only sells what they grow and its all outdoor from seed. The quality is great, the prices good, and they limit there ofgerings to 10-15 strains at a time Which is enough. They use simple and plain packaging to keep prices down instead of putting everything from a gram to an ounce in a decorsted glass jar for no good reason. They also have a philosophical aversion to vape carts.

It's litterally everything I have holed for in a dispensary. Its doing well but the hypebeast smokers who thrive on novelty tend to rag on it.

@MethDozer I love greenhouses but it's just not the same as growing outdoors. And I've had a lot of strains where % doesn't mean anything. We can't expect to take the harmony of nature out of the growing experience and get the same quality. I don't care how that sounds because I know it's true lol

@ScreamingFox I dont mknd greenhouse grown, but most of the indoor at dispenseries I come across is very mid in quality but it looks great and is that overly dense CO2 boosted weed. Greenhouses at least get the sunshine and outdoor air.

Yeah % is a bunk metric imho and I often find product that has lower listed % than another but smokes, tastes and has a better high. I worked in the industry in the past and the problem with rhe % thing is a lot of companies will have a few of their best plants of each strain they baby a little more than the rest of tbe crop and send those as the test samples. So it isnt really thay accurate anyway. So much of the industry has become about branding and candy strains. I dont really care for the candy strains at all.

@MethDozer not saying I'm not glad they legalized it, but that definitely opened it up to the corporate world mindset. Sell sell sell and make a profit. They cut corners and cheat. They hype it up. That's never what weed was about. Humans eventually ruin everything.

@ScreamingFox yeah. A lot of states fucked it up when they introduced legalization and set the laws to favor conglomerate investor type buisinesses to hold the mantel of production. I think NYS learned from others and got it pretty close to right when we legalized. The laws defiantly favor the little guy and have kept some of the big greed corporate producers out of the business here. Plus alabany really got it rught when they mandated at home grows being legal statewide with no allowance for local restrictions on it.

@MethDozer I worked for the medical dispensary years ago, run by retired cops and people with clout. So they rushed in wiped out a lot of opportunity for small grows, or even larger scale grows/dispensaries. It's all who you know here.
