Mini PC's, are they worth it?

Contemplating getting rid of my Celeron Lenovo laptop and getting a tiny box like pc with a ryzen 5, 32g ram. The only drawback is win11. But I know how to rid of one drive (permanently) so I guess that isn't a big deal. Found many cheap computers but they have i3 and those have always been too slow for me. Linux is just incompatible with my daw and video editing software so that's out. Does anyone have one of these types and if so what are your thoughts on it

Sounds like you are trying to exchange one hurt with another. Laptops are cool because they are portable. You can connect large screen monitor to it and hide it in a corner someplace, but if you want to take it to the beach or the office you can do that too. Changing to a mini computer will likely have you in a similar position, maybe with other unexpected issues.
I dunno, if it was me and I didn't like my laptop I would get a real gaming computer, then there are lots of options.
You can get a good deal if you look around on auction sites and recycling places, you can find something with a better CPU. It might also be possible to buy a motherboard and CPU combo and buy the case separately. An "open box" or new motherboard and a used case might save a bit of money.🤷‍♂
The PC I'm writing on is an all-in-one, basically laptop or mini parts, I still use it because the picture is fantastic!! For me it's not slow, but that's a Linux thing.

I have look into them pretty well. Office type work it would work fine for the most part. If u want it for graphics work or gaming it will struggle. I imagine it has a built-in graphics card and they are not the most powerful

if youre gonna get a pc, get a proper one and build it yourself. Half the cost. I mean what are you gonna do? Have a tiny pc but carry around the monitor everywhere? It won't be like a laptop
Before the ram goes up get it.

@greensnacks that mini PC in the picture had 32ram. That is pretty good for that type of PC
