I haven't seen a yard sale around here in several years. I don't know why. Used to be plenty every weekend.

My partner ex wife likes to take our boys to thrift store. They have found many chiefs and royals shirts there. As fast as they grow it's the best way to shop
supersnipe · 61-69, M
I used to like them. But there comes a time when you can't accommodate more 'stuff'; even CDs, 45rpm records and that sort of thing. And books at these places are cheap for a reason - people simply haven't got the room for them.
bijouxbroussard · F
@supersnipe That’s a good point.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
They're like living in a mall. And you get to name your prices. The ones in this area aren't as good as they used to be. Elderly people are dying off, moving into homes or moving out of the city.

Yes. I’ve found some really amazing things. But luckily there aren’t many near me, or I’m sure I’d go overboard. 😊

I don’t think I have ever been to a yard sale. I love going to flea markets
Gabber · 22-25, F
@tobynshorty I love getting boiled peanuts at the flea market

I've held far more than I've attended. It's a joy

@Gabber Mostly household goods, such as area rugs, small tables, bed frames, towels and small kitchen electronics, as I upgrade. Sometimes clothing and pet supplies. At one I sold all my books, dvds, cds and cassettes and a boombox. All in excellent condition, per my obsession with keeping everything I own in mint condition. But I'm also a minimalist, so I also tend to sell things I receive as gifts over time.
Gabber · 22-25, F
@faery That’s very smart and very resourceful. I don’t like to get stuff from big box stores because it’s more expensive and a waste of resources, so finding yard sales with household items are a big win for the seller and consumer. I’m with you on the minimalist side too, as I find it neat and calming

Yes I get a lot of fishing stuff and tools cheap
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M

If I am looking for something specific. Best place to find tools that have been barely used.
Mudkip · 31-35, M
I always say I'm going to a few but never do lol
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Only ever stopped at one -- because we could see teddy bears for sale.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
Sometimes you can find some good stuff.
Acheron · 41-45, M
Yea I’ve had some good finds over the years. It’s exciting when you come across one. Because most of the time it’s all garbage.

@MethDozer Especially if you don't want moths in your home...
MethDozer · M
@supersnipe I dknt think anyone gets clothing moths anymore. I heard .h grandmother's talk about them but in 45 years I have never heard or known of anyone getting linen moths. I think we ha e kind of eliminated that as a normal occurance
