I want a ciggarette without having to buy a pack

Back in ancient days when I owned part of a comic book/game shop downtown, the place right next door was a little convenience store. They didn't have a lot, and the guy who owned it was working on getting a liquor license for the place. Back in those days, most of people who hung out downtown were skater dudes and the like who were always bumming cigarettes, so the guy started breaking up packs of cigarettes and selling them one at a time, which is, of course, illegal. We used to joke that, if he ever got his liquor license, he'd make most of his money selling booze to underage kids, and maybe selling meth out the back door. (He had that look about him.) He never did get a liquor license.
