Which virtue/trait are you working on?

Y’know, self-improvement and stuff. Patience for me ⏳
Top | New | Old
Empathy. Unfortunately I don't think that is something than can't be worked on. You either have it or you don't. When I give a situation some thought AFTER time, I DO feel bad sometimes when I did not have empathy at a certain time or situation.

I feel much more empathy for animals than I do for most humans.
@LoneVoice
I feel much more empathy for animals than I do for most humans.

I used to be the same way until something humbled me and made me more compassionate for humans. Still though, sometimes I feel humanity is a lost cause.🫤

It's difficult cause it seems like things overlap. For example trying to work on not being judgemental but trying to work on being assertive and setting boundaries at the same time.
Or, working on being silent and working on speaking up for myself.

I understand. Knowing when to use each trait and analyzing the situation is equally important. I believe that's a skill one can learn & gain, too

@SW-User yes... We keep on learning..🤗

Being a Loving husband.
pancakeslam · 46-50, M
@SW-User let me ask your wives about that
Forgiveness. When I think I’ve forgiven everything and everyone (even myself), something always happens to show me I have more that needs letting go of.
SW-User
Definitely takes time @Colonelmustardseed

Patience is a life-long discipline I have yet to master :-)
SW-User
Oh yeah 😖 but I think I'm doing a bit better than say 10 years ago. Lol @Northwest
Diplomacy. So I'm told by family and friends, at any rate

I don’t have trouble loving people I have a big heart ♥️
None. I am old.
SW-User
Sound like my mom. I honestly don’t think you 60s folks are old. Most are sharp minded with lots of things to give to the world. Still 20-30 years more of life journey I hope 🙏🏽
Is it because you’ve found the best version of yourself? Or got very used to it that any change feels alien? @FlowersNButterflies
@SW-User I have CADASIL, no treatment, no cure. Not your mom, not prone to exaggeration.
SW-User
My apologies @FlowersNButterflies
My super sensitive side and forgiveness for a particular person

I know that feeling @MoonlightLullaby
@SW-User Which one or both? Both are extremely difficult, so bless your heart ❤️

The second 🤍 @MoonlightLullaby

losing weight, regaining happy emotions? cooking? self importance?
SW-User
You are a good cook already 🧑🏻‍🍳@popmol
popmol · 26-30, M
@SW-User i try to be but i'm only good at looking at recipes and following them :p
from tomorrow i'll go to a class every thursday to a cooking class where i'll learn how to cook fish, it will be tough as i'm not a fan of fish but i also want to learn to cook them!
i need to improve my salmon making and also treat my future girlfriend and family if they like fish!
SW-User
I'm working on learning not to get involved in useless arguments. I guess that's a sort of patience.
SW-User
It is and that'll save you lots of time & energy @SW-User
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I suppose acceptance
SW-User
Would you elaborate a bit on this one @WhateverWorks
WhateverWorks · 36-40
@SW-User ohh… it’s complicated.. part of it is learning to accept that there’s only so much I can do about my health problems and.. some of this is.. probably just my life now.

Some of it is that my kiddo is going through some things that may be a sad glimpse into the challenges of their adulthood. I do what I can to help. I wish I could wave a magic wand to ensure they live a happy life, but I don’t have control over that.

The other thing is related to my disability. I’ve worked really hard to get this far in life. I’d like to think that there’s some ‘yay, life will finally not be hard anymore’ threshold, but .. despite my best efforts what I want to do with my life will never be compatible, complementary with my disability/limitations. It is what it is.
SW-User
That's actually a mature way of thinking. Life can never be perfect. The sooner one comes to terms with this fact, the better. I wish you all the best 🌷 @WhateverWorks
Pfuzylogic · M
patience and coupled with that acceptance.
SW-User
@SW-User NO spare time from 🥱 & 😴. Besides, my life, my ways.
