I think I'll watch less news

And live life moment to moment. Yes, that's my new plan. 😀

The key to your problem is the phrase "watch less news". News reels before the main feature in theater disappeared long ago and was pretty close to the last time you could "watch the news". What TV and the Internet provide are opinion and entertainment.

But finding news to read is becoming a challenge since broadcast, cable, and the internet have stolen their product and advertisers, bankrupting many newspapers and shrinking space and staffing on the remaining. But giving up on gleaning the few kernels of news still remaining is like pursuing life's journey with a broken GPS and no map.

Yeah back in the old days we had the news at the dinner hour and then right before bed - now you get 24/7/365/online/streaming

and of course they have to make the new sound bad so you'll keep watching

@Pretzel Well, I go back to Edward R. Murrow, Paul Harvey on the radio. But it wasn't so much the individuals--although they were top flight objective journalists in their own right--but the way broadcast journalism was structure up to the early 1970's due to FCC requirements. Then the requirements were loosened, 60 Minutes showed you could monetize the news, and news became entertainment.

It gets depressing, doesn't it?
Go live 😊

It’s not the news. It’s the evening opinion.

I can understand why that seems like a great idea

News tend to be very depressing and bad. I hope for you that these moments to moments last longer than New Year's resolution.
Also stay off the internet. I can find something to support anything online

live in the 'now' because that's all we have, tomorrow is promised to no one.
The whole ignorance is bliss road? 😅 news is so agenda based anyway

Most news is so twisted you're definitely making the right call

I never have a clue what's going on and I'm glad :)

That’s a good lesson learned

It’s hard to avoid news.
Now, THAT is a plan!
