Do you ever feel that you search for depth and connection with a person and never seem to find it?

You try your hardest but it just isn't there? I feel this way all the time and I wonder why this is what surrounds me. When your soul runs deeper it's hard to feel comfortable with a half inch of air and surface levels of vapid.

Actually no. Now that desire seems like romantic teenage sentiments to me that I can't mentally or emotionally connect to anymore. I'm okay with the idea that I can't be connected to another person in a special kind of depth because we have different life experiences that shape our world views and create personal bias. All I can ask for is compatibility, synergy, understanding, tolerance and agreement in core values. Anything more feels like wishful thinking and an illusion of things being more like I want them to be than how they really are. A nice fantasy though.

I don't search for it, but I don't think it's there in most. It's rare to find that type of depth quality. I love your last sentence. Vapid entertainment is what most want. 💕
