Do you ever feel that you search for depth and connection with a person and never seem to find it?

You try your hardest but it just isn't there? I feel this way all the time and I wonder why this is what surrounds me. When your soul runs deeper it's hard to feel comfortable with a half inch of air and surface levels of vapid.

Very much so. I've felt in all my relationships that I was expecting there to be a deep connection that never seemed to materialise. I've come to realise that it hasn't been the other person's fault, it's that I've had unrealistic expectations and that what I expected from relationships isn't what most people want. What it is that most people want and seem content to have, I don't understand.

@AnnabelleLeigh Well, I didn't think my expectations were unreasonable or unrealistic, but experience suggests otherwise. I think a lot of people either don't have much depth to their personalities, or they feel threatened if you try to find out what really makes them tick.

Not much anymore, no. I've spent too much time alone and I just don't connect well anymore. It makes me uncomfortable.

It's lonely but I don't know what to do about it anymore.

I haven't been able to overcome some of what life has thrown at me and I don't know that I'm going to get the opportunity at this point. I refuse to give up though, I'm too stubborn for that. Just working out and working on music lately, trying to stay positive.

I don't search for it, but I don't think it's there in most. It's rare to find that type of depth quality. I love your last sentence. Vapid entertainment is what most want. 💕
