I think a lot of societal ill these days is caused by people allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good.

So many people refuse to recognize when things are improving or when something good is happening of it isn't exactly how they want things to be. There's a lack of tolerance for little flaws and a lack of patience for improvement over time. We want everything to be perfect right now and anything less means the world is awful.

We, as a society, need to slow our roles and actually take stock of what good is around us.

Unfortunately, government doesn't always accommodate "either or" very well. Like acceptance of diversity Vs comfort of the familiar.
