I never keep any writings, like a diary or a journal, because I found out someone was reading mine when was a teenager. I still write things, but I destroy them right after. Something about writing helps me think and cement ideas, but I can't trust they will stay private.
Now I realize I miss how I might gain insight over time, but also I might find out I've been in denial or even been horribly wrong in my thinking.
I hope you will forgive yourself. You're only human 🩷

It really is a most difficult thing, to realize you were horribly wrong about something you were so sure about.

Old notes, so this just didn't happen, took me some time to have that aspect in my mind. Our hurts never really leave us do they, but ideally they add a special part of our identity.
