I love chess . Even the double entendre of it's pieces. Play quite often. Not so certain its direct ties to intelligence, but definitely involves metacognition.

It's no good indicator, it can measure at most your short term memory for move combinations.

Think about it, it's one thing where humans can't beat algorithms. And the algorithms consist in literally playing every move combination in memory and choosing the shortest towards checkmate
