I know I'm healing cause I want less and less to do with people..

I've always been a people-pleaser, always put others first, always suppressed my feelings and opinions in order to keep the peace.

I'm done.
I don't care what people think of me anymore (most of the time - I still care at times).
I don't care to keep the peace, I don't care if I stand out, I don't care if my opinion offends someone. I've been offended plenty of times, and nobody cared then.

I'm tired of people.
I think I'm so damn aware of everything going on, that I've gotten to a point where I'm drained and just feel a sense of relief whenever someone blocks me or unfollows me. Instead of trying to explain myself, I simply let people wonder and I rather delete a comment or a post than to allow negativity to grow around me.

Like the other day, I made a comment, it got lots of questions and hate, I answered twice, then the third time I simply deleted the whole thread, cause it's not worth loosing sleep over.

I also got upset over a post I saw, but instead of commenting on it and making a scene, I just scrolled, if I see another post from this person I’ll just block them.

I might just delete social media soon.. it’s too much toxicity and I’m sensitive to it even when I try not to be.

I've lost everyone over the years of exhaustion and not keeping up with social demands. It feels a little lonely but mostly glorious. I don't know that I'm fixing anything, but mostly just isolating myself. But it feels great. My nervous system hasn't felt this good in forever.

I'm glad that it's providing you peace and that you're seemingly enjoying most of it.
I get this on a deep level
I have gone through something similar

I've been a people pleaser since I was a kid..it's exhausting. My principal called me Smiley in elementary school. Little did he know I did that because I didn't want people to ever think I was the names my parent called me..so I developed almost another self. One that ALWAYS agrees, always keeps the peace, and always puts others feelings before my own. And I mean daily, for decades.

I am so burned out now, I'm near where you are, if I say something that might be sassy, oh well. You're right did anyone ever care when they were abrasive to us?? No. It's hard though because I default to even apologizing if someone bumps into ME, and I don't speak up nearly enough for myself. But it's not sustainable to please everyone daily. Are they pleasing us?? Most, no!!
Do what you need to do to protect yourself, mi amiga.

People don't heal alone.
Healing is done through healthy relationships.

IE: friendships and romantic partnerships that are kind, caring, safe, and healthy.

Any other thoughts of healing that are done outside of that are half measures that mask the pains and traumas we've been through. Healing means discovering new patterns and learning that relationships can be healthy and safe.

My give-a-shit machine broke down years ago and I have no plans to fix it.
@uncalled4 I remember this…😄

@bijouxbroussard It's helped by changing the chords to D and A major. :)

I totally understand. I’m so at that point lately myself. I’m disgusted by so many people these days.

@MellyMel22 It’s sad and relieving at the same time..

@Cassieee I get it! I just told my mom today. I’m so done with everyone and their BS. F-ck them if they can’t act how they want to be treated.

@MellyMel22 totally agree 🥺🫂

Things are worse nowadays then say 5 years ago. It is indeed difficult to present one's own authentic self without backlash. The internet will be even more toxic if good people leave, then eventually just toxic people with other toxic people and that will soon get boring for them for their sickness requires others to feel their acidity.

I hope something gives and you find yourself centered and calm.
Wishing you well and people to care about that make you happy and bring you smiles.

Be well
Live happy
Keep trying,
Rob

Oh dear! You know, I never realized that people took these online posts and comments so seriously! I am awfully sorry. If it helps at all, I will tell you my favorite way to deal with negativity online. I block! It gives me a feeling of satisfaction, when someone is rude or scary or abhorrent to me in some way. Why don't you try blocking THEM first? You might feel better.

Can’t blame u..there seem to be more bad ppl around than during my youth…many more! I think it’s a sign of our times: empathy deficit!
