Are you addicted to SW?

Be honest. Who doesn't like hearing from online friends, receiving humorous replies to a post, or reading thought-provoking messages. But, maybe some of us depend on SW more than we should??? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

If my friends went elsewhere, I'd leave. I've used this site like a lot daily for years but it's not an addiction to the site itself
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
No, there’s not enough people and the scope of conversation gets more narrow every time I return. Still, it’s nice for a few days.
Im a very irregular member of this site. 😿
I hardly reply back to DM's , cause most of the time I have lazy fingers . 🤭 Please _ do not ask me 'why' ?
I'm not a stalker 🫣 , just a silent admirer. 🍁
I'm not good with words. 🔥.
Mostly here for free booze. 🥂

And
I have only one addiction ..

Now & forever.

I'm not depending on this site at all.

Also me.

"Hello from the other siiiiide

But not so much the dms
I need that laughing emoji
For my life to make sense
At aaaaaaaaall"

I come here once a week or so. My tolerance for abject stupidity diminishes as I age. There are occasional gems that make the visits worthwhile.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@redredred
Thank you red! I'm glad I made it worth your while showing up here once a week!
joe438 · 61-69, M
I had left the site for a while when life got in the way. I had time about 2 weeks ago and found some old friends and made some new ones. It is pretty addicting.
Blondily · F
Not like some are on here. lol
I like stopping by in the mornings for a few laughs then go about my day offline. Yet if I'm home all day I'll pop in more often.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Yeah, probably. Though I have taken extended breaks a few times over the years.
2ndtimeguy · 61-69, M
Spend more time seeing if people I know are on than I do chatting with them!
Maybe just a wee bit .. but more and more, I can take it or leave it.
I want it in mah veins
Casheyane · 31-35, F
I value my friends who ring constantly haha, especially the ones with memes.

But some really good SW friends are not just SW friends. A few good ones get close enough to talk to on other platforms.
I just open this page on auto pilot. It doesn't even hold my interest as such. I don't know if that is an addiction and if it is, it's not a good one.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
Lurking. I'm not here. I'm everywhere. And it isn't an addiction. Substances are addictions. Activities are compulsions.
TexChik · F
First, you lay out your premise and then demand that we agree with it. Odd behavior.
Not as much as I used to be. I can go days without posting now but I do browse daily.
Maturebate · 70-79, M
Probably - or addicted to a few members here for services rendered.
MaliaAgain · 36-40, F
No. I only check in every couple of years
no, i don't find it as entertaining as reddit
LandOfOz · 61-69, M

"Addicted" would be strong. I like many of the people here, but several have also gone.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
No not anymore. I have been moving to Reddit more and more ever since they messed up the feed here.
I sometimes come back, but its hardly worth it anymore here.
swirlie · 31-35, F

I like all of that stuff but I don't get ANY of that stuff here on SW, never did.

When I was on EP, I use to hear from online friends, I received humorous replies to a post and I always read thought-provoking messages, but SW is simply not set up as a web platform to enable any of that kind of action.

This website is strictly set up as a Q & A format, no different than playing a game of trivial pursuit at a very slow party in mixed company with a bunch of Catholics on Sunday afternoon at grandma's house.

@splendid
You know what, I'm a very liberal minded person and I don't need to hide my thoughts from anyone who would like to listen to them. I've done my fair share of PM's in the past, but they don't really serve anyone unless you really have a thing going on with that one person in the PM.

Why would you not want to host your conversation up here on the open forum for everyone else to read, instead of just you and me?
splendid · 41-45, M
@swirlie Thank you. The reason I had suggested that a PM might be appropriate was in case you had some aspects that you would prefer not be public. I'm pleased that you have sufficient strength of your convictions to make them public.

Go for it Frank!
Would you say the same concerning your offline friends?
