A Question for the Divine
There is a question that has long occupied my thoughts.
When those whose hearts are filled with deceit, falsehood, and malice stand before God, does He not perceive their true nature? And if He does, what becomes of it?
Does He still listen to their prayers and grant them His favour? Does He offer them guidance and mercy? Or does He dispense justice according to what lies hidden within their hearts?
Or perhaps He does nothing at all, choosing instead to remain silent whilst allowing the consequences of their actions to unfold in their own time.
It is a question that returns to me time and again, and one for which I have never quite found an answer.
