I had to drug test today & I always have to pay for the tests which kinda sucks. We're allowed to ask our P.O. for a voucher though so I tried that today. She put in 10 vouchers for me! I didn't even ask for that, I only hoped for one.
For some reason her words of encouragement mean a lot to me. I've heard so many bad stories about people struggling on probation but honestly my experience has been great so far. My P.O. is awesome, talking to her always feels like talking to a family member. It's like she's one of my tia's or something ("tia" is "aunt" in Spanish. It's just the term I'm accustomed to)
Sorry I know most people don't care about this stuff but I just appreciated it so much
My half sis is PO. Last winter I was with her and it was like 5am she stopped for coffee and saw one of her "cases", she just called him one of her guys, sitting outside. She got him coffee and gave him money for a bus and called someone to get him help ASAP as he was mentally ill and wasn't able to keep a job or a place. People were looking at us weird but I was so proud of her. She was off duty taking me to the hospital.
There are good people out there. They truly care and believe in people. I know she's seen a lot of bad, but she still believes in the good.
You're a good person and clearly an amazing dad trying to set things right. I'm glad you have a PO with compassion to help you through the process.
It might surprise you to know that a great many people admire those who put in the effort to better their personal life situation. So helpful to have a PO such as yours. Well done to you and continue down the path you are on. Who knows what positive opportunities will come your way.
@Gusman thank you, I didn't think of it that way but it makes sense. I'm sure if I was doing worse, she'd be on my ass. She doesn't seem like she'd be the type to hold back if someone is messing up
Honestly, it's really nice to hear something positive for once. I like your posts and think you're doing a great job cleaning up for the better good in your life. I'm sure it's not easy.
@Turtlepower thank you man. It's really hard sometimes because I've made a lot of mistakes in my life & I still feel like I'm paying for a lot of it. People often say "I'm glad it's behind you" but I'm still fighting to put it all behind me every day
@ChiefJustWalks I suspect it will be a fight for a long time but keep focused on your priorities (your family) and I'm sure you'll stay doing well. It's easier to do the right thing when there's good reason to (Just my opinion).

@TryingtoLava thanks Lava 🤗 I just usually don't like to post things about my legal stuff. There's people who downvote my posts when I do. Not that it makes a difference because it's not noticable but it does make me feel less understood when I share stuff like this
