Did you know about article 6?

Article 5 of NATO states that if a member state is attacked then all other member states must come to their rescue. This is well known.

Much lesser known is article 6, which states that if a British citizen needs to see boobies then the ladies of other member states must provide photos of boobies.

I didn't write article 6 so don't blame me, I'm just trying to edumacate you 👏

"Article 6 of the North Atlantic Treaty is a crucial piece of the document because it defines the geographic scope of the collective defense clause (Article 5).

In simple terms, Article 6 clarifies where a military attack would need to happen for Article 5 to be invoked. The initial treaty defined this area as:

The territory of any member country in Europe or North America.

The Algerian departments of France (this part is now obsolete since Algeria's independence in 1962).

The territory of Turkey.

Any island under the jurisdiction of a member in the North Atlantic area, north of the Tropic of Cancer.

The forces, vessels, or aircraft of a member, when they are in or over any of these territories or areas."
