Metric vs imperial adjustable wrench

When it comes to open end adjustable wrenches, I prefer a brand called Wright. They're made in USA and they open a little bit bigger than Crescent wrenches. An 8" Wright will open big enough to break down a set of oxygen and acetylene regulators, but it takes a 10" Crescent to do the same🔧

I wonder if the SAE wrench opens a little bigger than the metric one? ..being that an inch is 0.4mm bigger than 25mm
