I’m a big baby and I cry when I get numbing shots.

I'm bad with needles too. Now that I have a port in my chest I can use lidocaine to numb it and as long as I don't see the needle I don't pass out.

@Mardrae they did the twilight sedation thing to put it in. Two incisions and 17 minutes is all it took to get it in there.
It's super convenient, but I hate it. I'm really thin so it sticks out so I keep bumping it with stuffs and it hurts. I can't comfortably sleep on my stomach anymore either.

@SooperSarah omg-I’m so sorry you’re going through this!!! I had twilight surgery for a bone marrow biopsy last year and it was so easy! It’s probably hard to find clothes that it doesn’t show through too. I go through that with trying to hide my insulin pump. Hard to find cute clothes
@Mardrae I live in hoodies year round. I could get it taken out in october if I'm willing give up the convenience... and bet on the fact I won't need it again. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with making that decision yet.

Ιt's reasonable, tattoos are something people typically enjoy and with insulin you get used to it, but biopsies are more violent and yes even numbing shots the way they're done they can cause discomfort. I hope it all goes well for you!
@HannibalAteMeOut thank you! He didn’t think anything looked serious, so that’s good

{@mardrae] hope your biopsies are clear a bit of short pain no matter what is worth having cry baby or not to have this procedure
@smiler2012 true. And I plan on treating myself later

I was rudely excoriated by a female nurse for being terrified of needles
@SW-User seriously? I would have gotten her name and told the doctor . I had thought I was going to get several biopsies, but after I screamed and hollered so much, they didn’t want to deal with me anymore today. He wasn’t worried about all my spots I showed him- he said they were seborretic keratosis. I know I didn’t spell that right.

Doctors have topical anesthetics they can rub on your skin before injecting you, if you ask nicely. The deal with needle babies all the time.
