people do it all the time. I presume they do it because of the people who they [i]have[/i] interacted with, who look like you. I have to remember this when I go in stores and get dirty looks and followed around.

Good question. But once you meet them prejudice just turns to being afraid or not liking them. Or, hopefully, a change of heart and rethinking what you thought before occurs.
