I like when people show their age. Even if I don't know their real name or picture ( which I totally understand), it's a way for me to kind of imagine who I might be talking to and where they fit within the generations.
My response to a 21 year old vs a 65 year old might be a bit different.

@JimboSaturn Exactly. Or if a 70 year old mentions that they fell in love with someone they met yesterday online I might consider them to be more of a fool than a 19 year old who says the same thing.😂

When you are older than dirt people tend to shy away from interacting. I'd rather someone have reason other than my age. But then again I don't hide it in my username I reckon.

I think most people who know me know that I’m one of the seniors here. I honestly became tired of people using my age as an attacking point when disputing an opinion I was expressing about [b]anything[/b]. 👩🏽‍🦳

I don't think it's anyone's business what my age is. I look alot younger than my age and i don't need creepers eyeing my age.

I show my age but I often wonder about not doing so because I see a lot of ageism on here, and because I think 61-69 is too broad an age range. Yours is 31-35 not 31-39; I don't know why being in my sixties should change that level of precision.

People have preconceived notions of how someone must be, based on how many times the Earth has orbited the Sun since they've been on the planet. They use a number to determine if they want to associate with that person, and in what way(s). It creates limitation based on a number.

@scorpiolovedeep YES!!! And, the conclusions about age that people have been conditioned into believing and what they must represent, keeps them from [i]seeing[/i] someone's mindset. The mindset has already been prejudged with the use of a number. [i]Most[/i] people have an age prejudice and aren't even aware of it.
