Do people in other countries complain all the time? I live in the U.S. and people just seem to whine and complain about just about everything almost.

I work retail so I might notice it more than the typical American would. I'm just wondering if complaining about everything is just an American trait or is true of people in general.

Victimhood is so in vogue these days, especially in places where people live better than Imperial Royalty, like the US.

@SandWitch So being in Sweden, you're an expert on the standard of living in the USA? The poor in the US are more likely to be overweight than starving, have cellphones, cars, roofs over their heads. Scandinavian countries, a fraction of the size of the US, have enormous taxes and, despite generous maternity benefits, still have sub-replacement-level birth rates. No money for children after paying all those taxes, I guess.

Sweden population: 10.42 million. USA population: 331.9 million. Sounds like a fair comparison.🤣🤣

@SandWitch people in USA who think they live better than anywhere else in the world have never left their country

@Jenny1234 It's true. I've an aunt whose sum foreign experience is vacationing on beaches in Mexico that asserts things about how other nations compare to the USA all the time. I talk with people from around the globe on an almost daily basis as part of my job. None of her talking points line up with what people from those countries actually tell me. But from her perspective I'm the sheltered one. 😓

@SandWitch "Most Americans..." 🤣 I've always been on my usual best behavior in Europe, chatting with cab drivers, whoever, in several countries. One of them told us about his regular trips to Vegas. The Irish in particular had a pleasant demeanor that was a breath of fresh air next to what I'm used to in America. My next Hawaiian shirt will be my first. 🤣 The tour guide at the Towers of London recognized the American football logo on my jacket, though.

@SandWitch I have about one drink every 4-5 years. None in Europe that I can remember.

@SandWitch There might have been wine served with the meal of pigeon I had in France once. (Nobody told me what it was until afterward - thought it was chicken.) Otherwise, no alcohol at all in Europe.
