I’m kinda struggling with one of my unhealthy coping skills right now.

If you have advice, I’d listen. Keep in mind I suffer from extremely bad mental illness.

@DarkHeaven That was beautiful. I hope you are feeling beautiful too.
@Matt85 I feel like tearing myself apart. same as the song. I guess that could be beautiful… in a way.

I'm definitely not the best person to offer advice in that area since I struggle with it too.

I'm here for you though, one way or another. :3
@thepreposterouspanda that’s cool. I wish I played better. Like I’m not bad at all. I even give lessons because I’m good enough for that. I’m just not great. I’ve played with great… and it’s just not in me.

@DarkHeaven I don't come anywhere close to great in my opinion, but my sound is unique because I learned it all myself. 🤔

There's just so much to learn. It's such a wonderfully diverse instrument. 😌
@thepreposterouspanda my uniqueness is my words and my voice. My guitar is just averagely good.
hey little lady...remember one thing.. stuff aint as bad as they seem.... you can control your feelings with the right meds... my mom suffered "stuff" for years.... she did find the right help after a while... you can too 🫂

What are the things you do to help you cope? My son has fights with himself and if we don't listen carefully. It can become dangerous situation.

So as a family when things get that bad. We as group take turns spending time with him. If time allows it, we make it a family game night and focus our attention to him.

This is what we do

@HumanEarth yup. two ambulance rides so far. One was trying to die… and one was not, but just going too far. I’ve got lots of scars.

Cut up a juicy fruit and eat it like it is your enemy.

Im trying to be lighthearted and real. Project the actions onto something that is safe to cut ? Just a thought
@JaggedLittlePill I don’t have enemies. the only person I hate is me. I have people I don’t like, and people I don’t agree with… but they’re just people I haven’t been able to reach. the only thing that is bad… is me.

@DarkHeaven I wish you could see yourself as I see you....as a good and caring person, someone I love for who you are (with all of your faults and self=hatred). We each have our demons, and each of us has demons that are a bit different....but I know that deep down you are a good person. You don’t hate imperfections in your friends, and I don’t understand why you hate your own imperfections. A mental illness is not an evil mind....even what you did years ago you thought at the time that you were doing in self-defense. Please don’t hate yourself, and please don’t intentionally harm yourself...that won’t solve anything or make anything better, not for you nor for those who love you. ❤️

Oh, shit. I can't believe I didn't see this until just now.

Look, the main thing that you're getting out of cutting yourself is the endorphins your brain releases to try to distract you from the pain. There's other ways to get those endorphins.
@LordShadowfire it’s my crutch for when I’m struggling.
