Fairly often -- I'm a worrier from a family of worriers.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M

itsok · 31-35, F

WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@itsok This world just wears down my defenses against it
Anon066 · 36-40, M
@black4white constantly
Selah ·
Yeah I'm terrible about that.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Selah It annoys me when I do it, but I have some good friends who wait and talk me down.
JupiterDreams · 31-35
I used to. Then I started taking medication lol
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I do sometimes
All the time
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@submissivelittlewoman It's hard
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
Daily
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@SleepingWithGhosts This seems to be common.
MyNameIsHurl · 46-50, F
Yeah, if one of my kids doesnt answer their phone or I dont know where they are, and three are adults 🫤
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@MyNameIsHurl Still they are your babies
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
Oh yes about anything ugh. One of the worst is my overthinking when they take blood pressure. I get so damn worked up wondering if it's high, that that in itself makes it go off the charts. Yet in normalcy it's fine. Even knowing it's fine doesn't stop me from worrying the next check! It's absurd!! And I have a appointment this week and I know they'll take it... Dreading it😕
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Baybreeze Hopefully they are understanding
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@WanderingHelplessly Thank you
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
Too Often haha
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@WaryWitchWandering I hate when I do it to myself
Cassieee · 31-35, F
Only like every other day or so..
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Cassieee I'm happy I'm not the only one
swirlie · 31-35, F
Yes, I use to when I was in my teens and early 20s, but then I developed a "don't give a shitte" attitude and decided to sit back on my skinny little butt and do absolutely nothing to prevent a sure disaster that would unfold, but instead, I decided to just sit and watch the disaster unfold for once in my life to prove to the world that it needed my input and without me the world would be totally screwed.
To my great surprise, there was no disaster, everything went exactly is it should have gone without my discerning intervention and I'll be damned, but the world also proved to me that it didn't actually need my input to succeed at it's highest level and could do just fine without me if necessary.
From that day forward, I stopped doing, I stopped planning, I stopped deciding in advance HOW things should turn out in my day.
Instead, I just sat quietly listened... and the answer to how anything would turn out was always presented to me. I learned from that experience that we don't have to DO anything at all, absolutely nothing.
All we have to do is show up for the dance, then shut up and listen... and we'll be shown what to do ..and when to do it. It's really quite that simple!

At times then I try and remind myself if I die in the next minute does all this shit here and now really matter-No it does not.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@WillaKissing Yes. That is exactly how I calmed myself. Then I thought, "What are you doing to yourself? Will this fix anything?"
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Daily?
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Prettybratbi1tch I don't do it as much as I used to
fun4us2b · M
Yes, I had a whole big drama last week...now I completely forgot about it and nothing actually changes...very unlike me, but I guess it happens...
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@fun4us2b It does happen
All the time. i'm too extra for my own good.
Sometimes my partner has to tell me to chill my little ass out because i get all huffy and dramatic knowing damn well i'm not going anywhere. i hurt my OWN damn feelings a lot.

WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@DancingStarGoddess I do the same thing and did today.
Sometimes
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@EldritchFox but you're a mythical creature of lore
@WanderingHelplessly we're screwed up too lol
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@EldritchFox True. I like it. We are all a bit broken
Sometimes
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Yeah but it's only nothing in someone else's opinion. It's always nothing if it doesn't affect them.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Gibbon Not everyone sees it like that
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
If I work myself up over it then it's not nothing, lol. 😆
But I hate my hyper-focusing on stuff to the point that even things I normally wouldn't notice bother me.
But I hate my hyper-focusing on stuff to the point that even things I normally wouldn't notice bother me.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@CrazyMusicLover I understand that
BlameBrett · F
Yeah, sometimes. I can definitely overthink things and read into stuff that probably means absolutely nothing. I know I do it, but apparently telling my brain to calm tf down isn’t a recognized treatment.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@BlameBrett Yeah. I had to go do stuff to distract myself. Then my big orange baby came meowing. My brain heard, "Papa, chill, pick me up and kiss me and talk to me."
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
It's my specialty, I think about every possible thing that could go wrong or start second guessing other people's motives instead of just asking or waiting to find out what's going on all the time.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 I used to do it constantly. For me, it's a fear I've said, or something that was misinterpreted. I used to self-sabotage.
To me it's actually something. But it's nothing to anyone else so who cares what it is...and don't ask
